Meet our Founder
Marie Takongou
Marie Takongou is the founder of Decaura, with a perspective informed by extensive international exposure across some of the world’s most architecturally and culturally significant design centres including London, Paris, Dubai, Italy and China, among others where she developed a nuanced understanding of design at the highest level. Across these environments, she cultivated an appreciation for materiality, proportion and the quiet discipline that defines truly exceptional interiors.
Guided by this experience, Marie returned to Nigeria with a clear intention: to introduce a more elevated standard of interior design and project management — one that is defined not only by aesthetic excellence, but by structure, professionalism and a seamless client experience.
She recognised a gap within the local landscape where refined design, disciplined execution and attentive client service are rarely delivered in equal measure. Decaura was established to bridge that gap, bringing together global perspective and local context to create spaces that are both distinctive and enduring.
Her work is characterised by clarity, restraint and an exceptional eye for detail. Each project is approached with intention, ensuring that every element is purposeful and every space stands apart with quiet confidence. The result is a body of work that is not only visually compelling, but unmistakably considered.

The Decaura Foundation
The Decaura Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Decaura, established to extend the principles of design and refinement beyond private projects and into the wider community.
The foundation works to create meaningful and measurable impact by supporting individuals and communities through access to knowledge, improved environments and pathways to long-term opportunity.
Our vision is that individuals and communities are equipped with the tools, resources and environments they need to thrive, contribute and shape their own futures.
Our work is focused across four key impact areas:

Expanding access to design knowledge, training, and industry exposure.

Improving shared environments to support well-being, connection and everyday experience.
